He wake up everyday
In a government yard
Deep down inside Citi Soleil
Roll some bones and catch a fire
Evil minds, they will conspire
The moon to lose its light
The stars sink into night
Across the town
A young girl plays guitar
"Do you remember me?" She sings to a lover
She worships from afar
Roll some bones and catch a fire
Evil minds, they will expire
The moon to shine a light
Upon us all tonight
Ooh child, I'll meet you, child
On the sunny side, it's alright, it's alright
No lies, and no cryin'
It's alright
"How you like me now?"
My friend, he say
"How you like the madness of Citi Soleil?"
Roll the bones and catch a fire
Join the triumph of the choir
Citi Soleil, Citi Soleil
I love to say Citi Soleil
Wow, I want a print of this on my wall. I'm a nut about prints lately...but seriously...this would really create a beautiful feel to any wall it hangs on. I love the yellow, and you're stacking of photos is incredible. She really does look like she's part of that city.

It's been so long since I've heard someone mention the Afghan Whigs!
I see optimism this time Citi Soleil is a bruised mother, but that makes her more caring and protective. The girl indeed blends perfectly, the pale yellow is like the rays of "le soleil" filtered through the smog. I see some trick you do creating custom brushes in psp
I always like how you use a theme, like a word, an idea, prose, lyric, whatever and bring it to life visually...
blimey, this is so gorgeous. something about the girl and the way she's holding onto someone who isnt really there, absolutly lovely. the words (lyrics?) you chose to support the image are perfect.
p.s. hmm, dear. ive never heard of Afghan Whigs, a band or writer?
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
